About
Enriching lives through learning
The mission of this MA Program is to provide education to prepare the clinical medical assistant with the techniques, strategies and knowledge to work in medical offices, hospital outpatient clinics and health centers. The medical assistant field is growing and there are tremendous job opportunities available in the community.
West Coast Medical Assistant Training Program, prepares the student to take the national exam, through the AMCA, American Medical Certification Association. This is an optional exam and NOT REQUIRED for the student to complete their externship or get a job as a medical assistant. If the student does take the national exam and passes, they will receive a medical assistant card through the AMCA. The student will complete a 160 hour externship at different doctors’ offices, hospitals, clinics. When the student completes the externship, they receive the certificate of completion from West Coast Medical Assistant Training Program. The program assists the student in finding their externships, where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate the skills you have learned.
We are a vocational education program. We have met the requirements of exempt status by the
