About
Enriching lives through learning
The mission of this MA Program is to provide education to prepare the clinical medical assistant with the techniques, strategies and knowledge to work in medical offices, hospital outpatient clinics and health centers. The medical assistant field is growing and there are tremendous job opportunities available in the community.
Providing a caring environment through educational excellence. The expectation of excellence is high in this fast-paced and focused Medical Assistant program. Through lecture, video, hands on laboratory and clinical practice, the medical assistant will receive training to perform a variety of administrative, laboratory and clinical duties. The program will introduce you to front office administrative responsibilities, such as record keeping and scheduling appointments. You will receive hands-on training on how to conduct a variety of diagnostic tests, take vital signs, draw blood (venipuncture), give injections and assist the doctor in patient procedures. You will also learn medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pharmacology.
Once you complete the classroom portion of the program, you will then take your national exam, right in the classroom. After passing the exam, the student is now ready to attend a one-month externship, in a doctors’ office, clinic or hospital, where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate the skills you have learned.
We are a vocational education program. We have met the requirements of exempt status by the
Bureau of Private Post Secondary Schools.
